Xenosaga II: Jacket WIP collage

A small sample of the patterns and detail work from Shion's Xenosaga 2 jacket. The metal and elastic mesh bits in the arm drapes are easier to see here. I've also included a preliminary sketch of the jacket based on the blurry TV screen shots Nick and I took of Shion's back with his PS2.

Sewing the shoulder guards was also a serious challenge. I ended up folding back the interfacing on the flat, top portion of the guard just to join top and bottom together. Even pinned down, the angle was difficult to sew with a machine. Eventually I was able to make a line of stitching that laid against the edge of the interfacing layers and I'm very happy with the result.
